This laser level, Fukuda FRE201, has been sold for approximately 7 years or so. It has been sold with many names/brands and unbranded with many model numbers and in many colours. Its been a popular model sold on eBay at extremely low prices and is not of the best quality but there allot of people wanting to know how to calibrate it.
Other names its been sold as;
PLS HVR500, Powerline A3, Fukuda FRE201, South GeoSystems FRE 201C plus many, many more.
Calibration mode for one axis is entered by pressing and holding the “left” and “right” arrow keys, then press and let go of the “Power” button, let go of all buttons and the right LED light should be flashing. Now you will need to do a little of trial and error as I can’t remember which axis this is but by doing some adjustment up and down using the “Up” and “Down” keys you should be able to work it out. Adjust this axis to the correct height for level and save the new level by pressing and holding the “left” and “right” arrow keys until the right LED stops flashing.
To calibrate the other axis Press and hold the “up” and “down” keys and press the “Power” button the left LED light this time will flash. To adjust the height this time press the “left” or “right” keys and once at the correct height save the setting by press and hold the “up” and “down” keys until the left LED light stops flashing.
As I mentioned at the start this laser level is available under may names and model numbers and I have listed a few at the top. If anyone can add any other names and numbers that would be great and also if someone could clarify which axis is adjusted with the up/down key operation and which with the left/right key combination that would also be helpful.
If anyone is looking at repairing this laser its probably not worth while as it was extremely cheaply made laser in the first place and parts will be scarce to say the least.
As always the Laser Level Review does not take any responsibility for your actions whilst using our guide, if you are at all unsure do not attempt to re-calibrate your laser and send it to a laser level service centre.
